Connections

There are plenty of ways to CONNECT with others here at FC Salem. If you’re looking for a chance to dive deeper into the Bible, make some friends, or even just an excuse to get out of the house, we’ve got something for you! Check out our full listing below.

If you need more information on any of these groups, you can contact the leader of that group (if one is listed) or the church office.

Small Groups

  • (Sundays, 7pm at the Kline’s home)

We use videos in association with Bible passages to spark discussion. Our curriculum varies and can include current events, books of the Bible, challenges for Christians, Advent, Lent, etc. Questions can be directed to Dave Kline (717-774-4995).

  • (Mondays, 7pm at the Derrek’s home)

Traveling Together Toward God is a small group of people at varying places in our spiritual journeys and lives. Our sessions include a mix of Bible study and life application studies combined with discussion, laughter, and genuine care for one another. We currently use a hybrid in person and zoom format as some of our members are not able to attend in person.

  • (Sundays, 11am in Room 210)

Our group meets and generally does 6 to 8 week studies. We have used Max Lucado, J. Ellsworth Kalas, Adam Hamilton, and other authors. Currently we are going through the second season of The Chosen. We have also participated in some of our church-wide Bible studies when they are available.

  • (Sundays, 9:30am in Room 210)

From May through mid-August the Back to the Bible Sunday School Class will be giving the book of Genesis an in-depth study. The material we will using for our study is titled Journey Through the Bible: Genesis. This series provides four dimensions:

    1. Questions to help the reader get into the main text.
    2. Information on the historical and cultural setting, insights from the original language, and what the passage meant for its first readers.
    3. Insight into life applications of individuals, congregations, and communities.
    4. A daily personal Journey Plan for those interested in reading the whole Bible verse by verse.

Additionally, I will be using several sources from our church library to enhance our learning. Please join us for this most informative Bible study. Materials are provided.

  • (3rd Wednesday each month, 7pm-9pm in Room 212)

The Women’s book discussion group - or “the bookworms” as we fondly call ourselves - is open to any woman who likes to read and discuss a book. The type of book varies. The atmosphere is relaxed with lively discussion. If you are interested in learning more or would like to be on the bookworm email list, please contact the church office or Marsha Uber.
