Children’s Ministry
Fishing Creek Salem UMC provides many opportunities for children to CONNECT, GROW, SERVE, and SAY.
CROSS TRAINING
Children's Sunday School, known as Cross Training, is available for PreK-5th grade at the 9:30am service. We Connect when all children meet in the sanctuary for a large group time, including an introduction to the lesson and singing. Then we Grow when we break into small group time, which includes scripture, games, and occasionally a craft.
ORANGE
We love using Orange Sunday School curriculum here at FC Salem because it focuses on three basic truths:
Wisdom - I need to make the wise choice.
Faith - I can trust God no matter what.
Friendship - I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
You can learn more about these truths here!

Safe Sanctuaries
Salem has put into place measures to keep children safe while here. We call these measures “Safe Sanctuaries.” Here are a few of the procedures in place that we follow to keep children safe while in our building:
There will always be two unrelated adults present during any church activity involving minors
We have “roamers” who travel, unscheduled, from room to room during Sunday School hours
Any individual wishing to supervise a church activity or ministry involving children must be at least five years older than the oldest participating child
Any room with a child in it must have the door open unless there is a window in the door that allows clear visibility
Volunteers and staff working with children all obtain clearances per PA law
We’re always looking for more volunteers for our children’s ministries!
If you’re interested and need to get your clearances, go here.
